WPJA Wedding Spotlight Awards!
The results are in for March, and I’m honoured to announce that I’ve received my 1st couple of WPJA (Wedding Photojournalists Association) Spotlight Awards for Wedding Photography! I love that both photos happen to focus on a particularly important person in each bride’s life.♡
Shortly after arriving in town for this stunning Carnegie Music Hall Foyer wedding, I met up with Charlotte and Karan at the hotel bar to reconnect. When I was first introduced to Charlotte’s maternal grandmother, her eyes lit up with love and pride, as she proceeded to tell me about her favourite memory of Charlotte’s character as a child. Caught this glowing candid moment under a chapel spotlight, while chatting with her husband just before the wedding ceremony procession would begin. Heinz Memorial Chapel, Pittsburgh, PA, USA.

Throughout this beautiful Auberge Saint-Gabriel wedding day, Dominique came across as a truly gracious “bridesman,” and maintained an understated, yet supportive presence during Rose’s bridal preparation, clearly proving his “bestie” status. Rose and the rest of the bride crew were now dressed and tending to final details, before we all headed out to meet Alexis for their emotional first look. Was thrilled to catch this frame that depicts Dominique, fittingly illuminated in his own prep zone. Spring Hill Suites by Marriott, Old Montreal, QC, Canada.

It’s a fantastic honour to be invited into people’s intimate life moments, enough to have the privileged opportunity to mindfully watch for these subtle, yet poignant unscripted candid frames of storytelling. Truly grateful to WPJA for including these photos in the latest round of Spotlight Awards for Wedding Photography. It means so much. xx
